The Cannaregio Sestiere and the Ghetto
One of the most silent areas of Venice, where the Jewish community has grown up for several years and the Jewish Ghetto offers an opportunity to understand the Venetian Republic’s tolerance and exploitation of foreign people and where there are the “Venetian skyscrapers”.
A large number of churches and palaces can be found in the Cannaregio area making up the charming atmosphere of a lively neighbourhood, which though not far from the centre of the city, seems like a different world.
