Peggy Guggenheim Collection

  • Venier dei Leoni, 701 Dorsoduro
  • Venice

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is the most important museum in Italy for European and American art of the first half of the XXth century.

It is located in Peggy Guggenheim's former home, Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, on the Grand Canal in Venice.

The museum was inaugurated in 1980 and presents Peggy Guggenheim's personal collection of XXth century art, masterpieces from the Gianni Mattioli Collection, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, as well as temporary exhibitions.

The Peggy Guggenheim Collection promotes cultural activities by opening its location to high-profile galas, business events and private visits, when the masterworks of the museum can be enjoyed in an exclusive environment.

Over the years, the museum has hosted numerous events organized in collaboration with important non-profit foundations, museums, business companies or cultural institutions, and thus provided an opportunity to a greater understanding of modern art.
